Rudolf Schlichter (or Rudolph Schlichter) (December 6, – May 3, ) was a German painter, engraver and writer. He was one of the most important representatives of the critical-realistic style of verism within the New Objectivity movement.Rudolf Schlichter was born Rudolf Schlichter was a German Dada artist and a leading figure of Germany’s New Objectivity movement. Often working in watercolor, Schlichter depicted the raucous urban life of Berlin between wars, featuring prostitutes, corrupt politicians, and bohemian artists.
